Welcome to our 15th annual edition, creating magical scenes in sand on the Jesolo lido in Venice, Italy. This year, the crew or fourteen master sand sculptors from around the world, plus ten art student assistants from the Academy of Art in Venice, and a small army of laborers, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, landscapers, decorators and various other technicians provided by Jesolo Patrimonio, put up a display of about 1500 tons of sand rendering some of the many subjects that comprise the feel for all that is Venice, from the distant past to today. |
The construction began
with the erection of the large circus type tent on May 12. The prep (poundup phase ran until 24 May. The artists arrive and sculpt for ten days from May 26 through June 04. Final decoration continues until the opening in the evening of June 07, and the show will run for six to eight weeks. Operating hours are from 10:00 to 23:00 daily admission is 2 euros.
