For the tenth year in
a row, the Sultans Of Sand Worldwide has created a "Sand Nativity"
in Jesolo, (Venice) Italy. It was first created as a winter season adjunct to the annual summer sand show, which we have been putting on for almost two decades. The Sand Nativity has become widely popular, boosting local commerce in the slower season, tremendously. Our second year edition was listed in the Italian registry of top ten nativity scenes (a benchmark) A few years later, the work was recognized by the Vatican. Since ours, which was the first sand nativity to be produced by a city in all of Italy, other cities & towns have emulated our grand spectacle... Not only in Italy but in other countries as well ... But no one can do it like they do in Jesolo! |

Each year, in a continuing effort to render this rather compact story in
an interesting and different way, we feature an additional
(new) themed element to compliment the sculptures. The show is generally like 'a day in the life' walking through an old world town. But this year, the new twist is putting scenic murals behind some of the sculptures. These paintings by international award winning artist Damon Farmer, enhance the sculpture both on site and in photos. Particularly with black & white photography. You can see examples of this in the photos index pages. |
