For the 13th year in a row, a number of master sand sculptors from around the world have been selected to be on the Sultans Of Sand Worldwide carving crew for the purpose of creating a captivating display of sand sculpture at the Adriatic coastal community of Jesolo, in Venice county Italy.
Assisting, is a team of art students from the Art Academy in Venice, and dozens of Jesolo City workers.
The theme for this edition is the classic story by Carlo Collodi of Pinocchio.
Twenty four different scenes are rendered from about 1,500 tons of sand. The show will be on display for two months from May 30- August 01 in the summer of 2010.
The show tent is located on the Jesolo lido between Piazza Breschia and the Casa Bianca resort hotel.
There will be numerous other fun events and activities associated with this show. Pinocchio event merchandise will also be available on site.
