  American entrepreneur Rich Varano and his company Sultans Of Sand Worldwide composed of ten award winning international master sand sculptors from several countries, render over 1,000 tons of sand into themes from the Ancient civilization of Egypt in the days of the pharaohs.

  The event is sponsored by the City of Jesolo located thirty minutes from Saint Marks Square in Venice. The event, under a giant tent on the beach, is touring thousands of visitors daily to view scenes such as life on the Nile, the great pyramids and sphinx, and examples of life at royal court and king Tutenkhamens tomb. At night, the entire exhibit is accented by a special lighting effects show.

The show opened June 20 and runs through July 20.

 This is the seventh year in a row Varano has directed this show and it has gotten bigger and better each year. He also provides a crew at Christmas time to render one Italy's largest Nativity scene in sand.
