Some of the preliminary sketches of the scenes:

   These are featured in the event program with brief profiles of the Sultans Of Sand artisans. They are only a general suggestion as to what the theme of each finished sculpture will look like, or a reference for the visiting public to be aware of what is to come as the sculptures are being created. The specific section of the story, or vignette was pre assigned to each artist by the event director. In some cases, the design was also adjusted by the director "on the fly".
