aewjg01.jpg (48458 bytes) John Gowdy is another multi media versed artist who has been dabbling in firefighting for the last twenty years in Atlantic City New Jersey. When he retires from that next summer, he will likely be on tour with sand a lot more. Here he is working on one of the many things he is known for, carving big heads.

John was one of the two other field engineers working with me on all of the pound-ups for the show. Ironically, he had planned to stay on in Italy for about ten days after the carving was finished. This proved to really be a life saver for me when he took over at the event after I went into the hospital for a week with blood poisoning from a scratch on my leg during the engineering phase. Many, many thanks John!
