"It was
good. The crowds were the biggest yet, and it is great publicity for the
city of Jesolo."
Francesco Calzavara - Producer: Sand Castles
...And the winners are:

First Place: $1,000.00
Niels Vegter. Holland
"Machine"
Niels perseveres, and determinedly completes
what he has intended. "Machine". A very clean,
almost strikingly stark sculpture.
Second Place: $750.00
Damon Farmer. USA
"Cowboys"
Damon had "Cowboys" pretty well whipped
into shape and then one of them slipped almost two
feet, but much of the element remained
intact, so he just changed the pose. Being on the end
directly facing the wind, he suffered
more wind erosion than anyone else.
Third Place: $500.00
John Gowdy. USA
"Pilgrim Pope"
John also has a piece that the Italians
love. "The Pilgrim Pope" This piece was done in the round.
Sculptors Choice Award:
Two-way tie
Damon Farmer "Cowboys" and Niels
Vegter "Machine"
Peoples Choice Award (11.500 votes):
First Place:
: Alessandro Buonopane, Italy "The Kings Castle"
Alessandro has arguably the least experience,
and yet in the end, produces the tallest sculpture,
and also the one that pushes the sticking
power of the sand the most. " The Kings Castle"
Congratulations Alessandro- Good job!
Second Place:
Damon Farmer "Cowboys"
Third Place:
John Gowdy " The Pilgrim Pope"
"Virtual Peoples Choice" award:
First: Damon Farmer (USA)
Second: Alessandro Buonopane (Italy)
