This is it. Crunch time. The sculptors pull out all the stops for the final seven and a half hours. Some will choose to
leave their tents up today to provide shade for themselves and their sculpture, and others will have the tent removed,
preferring to thus add to the presentational impact of the full setting sun at judging time (6:00 PM).
The day before was a considerable test for most sculptors. Cracks, minor collapses and the sand drying out continue to
be a bit of a bother. Baldrick took the biggest hit as you will see below.
There was a  a "Virtual Peoples Choice" award assigned to the sculpture that got the most votes on
the internet. As you review the photos, pick your favorites and see how you stack up against the judges.

1. Damon Farmer, USA
Damon renders a piece that is chock full of action.

2. Alexi Diakov, Russia
Alexi rounds out his family of bears.

3. Alessandro Buonapane, Italy
Alessandros' major prep work and pound up has paid off. His massive tower still stands.

4. Baldrick, Holland
After the total collapse of his central figure, and in the process of salvaging what was there, he loses basically the rest as well. It's definitely time for plan B.

5. Marika Tormikoski, Finland
Marika presents a slightly new theme. In addition to the wolves, forest and moon, she adds Draculas' castle.

6. Dale Murdoch, France
Dale continues at a steady pace. He is one of the few that are relatively trouble free the last two days.

7. John Gowdy, USA
John has added outstretched hands to the Pope, and today will incorporate some children carved in sand to his
piece.

8. Niels Vegter, Holland
Niels has three minor collapses in the same place. (front left corner) But he repairs and continues each time with a
calm grace.

Tomorrow is the family sand sculpture contest which will be judged by the pros. And also, the awards presentations
for both divisions. Be sure to come back to see the photos from that as well as to vote on the finished Master works
for the "Virtual Peoples Choice Award". See more finish photos on Monday!
