1. Damon Farmer, USA
The crowd is quick to recognize the theme of this
piece, as the cowboys and indians come to life in the sand.

2. Alexi Diakov, Russia
Russian bears evolve from the second edition of
sculpture at this plot. The kiddies seem to relate well to the cute
creatures.

3. Alessandro Buonapane, Italy
Due to the (at least partial) collapses of all the others over
the last few days. This sculpture is now the tallest.

4. Baldrick, Holland
Quite an impressive structure still stands after a rather
serious slide/collapse. Possibly asking more of the sand here this
year than any of the other pieces, Baldricks' work was a massive chunk
of sculpture. Can you say "Plan B"?

5. Marika Tormikoski, Finland
Her stylized wolves are multiplying. Soft sculpting on
the pile being so different than carving from the hard packed
pound up, Marika is using a lot of patience.

6. Dale Murdoch, France
The last sculptor to be impacted by any collapse (after
lunch yesterday he lost the tallest element). The sculpture of
the masked dancers almost feels alive.

7. John Gowdy, USA
He likes this second version better than the first one that
fell, and it is a very touching piece indeed. The crowds
linger at this plot, and the word "Papa" is heard continuously.

8. Niels Vegter, Holland
With a regular routine, almost like a machine himself,
Niels plods on in a steady cadence. Carve, step back &
look. Carve, smoke a cigarette, Carve, step back and look. His hard
edges and perfectly smooth surfaces are a
great contrast to the rest of the field.
