At events of this nature, it is a good way for friends
and associates in the sand community from distant locations around the
globe to reunite and catch up. Even though the irony is that many do not
speak the same languages. English seems to be the universal language of
sand sculptors worldwide when gathered en masse.
Here, Damon Farmer (Left) tells Alexi Diakov of Russia a thing
or two. Much to Alex's delight. But, from where I stood to take this photo,
it sounded a lot like: "Now you just stop that Monkey-jabberin' & gimmie
that rake!"
(Or, in fact, it might have been the other way
around. I ain't fer sher -ED)
