NATIVITY SKETCH IDEAS

These are only a general reference. You should do your own research on the elements you are sculpting, and please use the style of clothing & architecture for all the sculpture very similar to that in the Reference Art Pages It is the Renaissance/Baroque style the Italians like to portray in Nativity scenes.

Remember the three main sections should include an area of sculpture representing that section title closely, which we will probably shoot for postcards, but there is plenty of other relevant (supporting) sculpture surrounding it all also. It should be a very busy piece by design.

We need to work together to blend these scenes all together to be one continuous scene overall, yet still have the three main themes prominently portrayed.

The big high relief rectangular poundup will be behind the separate smaller poundups that will be all along the base in front of the big poundup. These front sculptures will all be sheep and shepherds, and a water element like an oasis. Everyone will work on the sheep and shepherds as well as the sculptures in their section.

We may bounce around some to break up the different and distinctive styles of the individual carvers. This would be preferred.
