...Click on these smaller images to enlarge them :)       Thomas Koet from Amsterdam Holland, now lives with his wife and business partner Jill, in the USA.  He is one of the three new people added this year to the Sultans Of Sand stable of associated worldwide master sand sculptors. But, by no means is he a newbie in the sand sculpting sport or industry. Trained as an engineer and  well heeled in the sand biz, I have been courting him to join a SOS crew for some time. But, like many touring sand pros busy with jobs of their own, and working with other sand friends elsewhere as well, it took some time, and doing to 'get ' him.  It was a joy to have both Thomas and Jill  this year, and both sculptures they created are great examples of the illustration work the producers  like to see rendered in this show. The General Store  by Thomas Koet Holland, and  Jill Smith USA Photo by Jorge Weigand Commerce and trade in the old west, just like today, needed to happen on a daily basis. The general store of the old west was like the Mall is today. you could buy all sorts of goods and wares, and it was a place where the genteel sort would sometimes gather to share gossip or news.
