| Pavel Zadanyuk. Graduate:
University of Moscow Academy of Arts 1996 & Surikov Art Institute 2002 Pavel is one of my top two or three favorite sand sculptors in the world. His work is just incredible. If he were interested in competing more- -which he does a fair share of anyway, and is hugely successful at it, I think he would probably be the top gun on the circuit. Classically trained in art from the traditional Russian school hierarchy system since being (an even younger) kid, his work in Bronze is also earning him a large following and a wide ranging reputation. He can draw excellent portraits almost in his sleep. His energy level equals that that of a small band of marauding ravers, and you never know what funny stuff he is going to come up with next. Pavel has brought his lovely -if quiet (as a mouse tiptoeing through cotton) sister (Irene) to the summer show a couple of times over the years, but we can only hope he will drag her back to Jesolo for the winter show sometime soon too. Pavel is continuing the "Peace Keepers" series which the producers launched here last year to compliment the Nativity, by creating a sand statue of Mahatma Gandhi (last year it was the late Pope John Paul II) That Pavel is hotly sought after by so many sand event organizers for contests and exhibitions, coupled with the fact that he is also so very busy with his own commercial art as well, in particular right now his bronze collection, it speaks to our good fortune that he comes to Jesolo twice a year, on a regular basis. We are very glad to have him. See his web site: www.zadanyuk.ru |
