Damon Farmer
Damon's Biography 2007
Damon Farmer. Versailles, Kentucky, USA.  BA Berea College.
Damon is an artist...  -in my opinion.  He paints, sculpts, reads, writes and gets along well with others in a group. And I can honestly say I have never seen him running with scissors. Sculpting sand longer than many celebutantes have been alive, Damon is a World Champion and multi national title holder. He has won the North American Sand Sculpting Championships more times than anyone else by over a decades worth of appearances. His distinctively illustrative carving style is always recognizable, and his use of perspective in sand sculpting is superlative. When he creates this type of "forced perspective" work for the Jesolo shows, the postcards we create of those sculptures for merchandising purposes are always in high demand.
Damon is one of the senior staffers  working with the Sultans of Sand Worldwide organization, and is quite valued as such. He has directed numerous events by himself and has been the art director for the Jesolo summer show (Ancient Egypt 2004) . He consults on a regular basis. All this in addition to managing his own company "Shadetree Studio."

His wonderful wife Beth Kirchner, who can also wield a sand trowel with aplomb, paired with Damon in the inaugural World Grandmaster "Tournament Of Champions" event. She has visited with Damon at Jesolo a few times in the past. We are all hoping she may join him here again soon.
Some of Damon's hidden talents include: a computer graphics and animation background, a Jedi master level of ability with a canoe paddle, and besides being one of the tallest sand carvers on the planet he is also big on the blues and blows an energetic harmonica, which he will breakout at a drop of the proverbial hat.
